Saw this yesterday. Dr. Lee forwarded a link to a company that offers several of the pickup diesel engines we're familiar with - even the P400. However, the price they're asking is breathtaking...

GOLD HEAD BOLT WASHERS ????
Platinum plated crankshaft ???

$17K is crazy
When I built the 6.5 for Dahoooley I paid $500 for the AM GENERAL block. $600 for a pair of the AM general heads (NEW)
I used a Scat crank, GM stock pistons and rods...
All the other parts came off the original engine.

A far cry from the $17K

That number is highway robbery ....

The P400 is a decent engine....But not that decent......

WOW....Just WOW....

In talking to the auto body shop about the mishap with the Blazer, I mentioned that a total buyout would have to include some "special consideration"... For example, the recently rebuilt engine in the Blazer should be worth at least $6k all by itself... Maybe I'll have to rethink that in light of the above...

Yeah buddy.

That rig is worth saving though...Rare as the two door units are...and being a diesel..
