I have the L65 motor, would running a #4 fsd resistor give me better milage, or am I asking for trouble here?

Hey 'Big One' -

Read the thread titled "#9...#9...#9". I think it will shed some light on your question.

In short, the #4 or #9 or #_ resistor will not markedly change performance. They are used to calibrate the pumps and only affect fuel flow in increments of 1/10ths of mm's.

It would be easier to put a block of wood under the gas pedal., :D

You might improve the mileage slightly by just bumping the engine timing up slightly.

Stock timing will be around -.25 to -.50 TDC. I believe you can get better fuel management with slightly more aggressive timing. Many members here like me run at -1.94 TDC. This is aggressive. More conservative but still beneficiary is -1.25 to -1.50 TDC.

Unfortuneately you need a Tech II to complete the changeover.
