It's listed in TDP classifieds, pics are at: http://www.speakeasy.org/~dstrom/Blazer/

I'm still driving it to work every day at 254K miles. 1994, towing package, Z71, some extras.

If you have questions, email me - dstrom at the domain above (after www, before the tilde ~)

Found a pristine '99 2-door 5.7L(gas) Tahoe. I like the 2 door form factor. I've been looking for a few months & have not seen any late model 6.5TD Tahoes. I note the gas engine version is a bit quieter than the diesel, maybe better soundproofing.

It's been fun with the diesel.

Any advice on the 5.7/4L60E? Good websites?

The 'Gen II' 5.7 Vortecs are good motors. My buddy has 210K on a bone stock 1998 5.7 and it runs like a top.

sorry to hear you're leaving the diesel tahoe behind.....but the gas version is great. better acceleration, much quieter, much better handling (without all that weight over the front)....mileage isn't even much worse. biggest loss will be torque, and even that won't be a huge change if you had a stock L56 and are going to a vortec 350...not at all unusual for those motors to go over 250k without issues.... enjoy it!

I have 98 ext cab c1500 with the 5.7 and 130,000 mi. I love the truck as a daily driver and light duty hauler. I purchased it from my father with 86,000 and had to replace the 4L60E at 96,000. The mileage is great (for a truck) and it is very comfortable to drive. I don't know of any sites with information for that combination though.

Sent you an e-mail and then found this post. Manual or auto tranny? Any other details?

trbankii, sent you an email with this info, posting in case anyone else is interested.

I had a 1990 K1500 extended cab, long bed Chevy truck with the Getrag light duty 5 speed & the 5.7 with throttle-body fuel injection (pre-Vortec)... got up to 19 mpg or so. Really enjoyed it, daily driver, hauling, boat towing, tent camping. Sold it at about 264k miles, still running. Boy was that thing long!

Blazer info:
Had a busy evening at work, sorry I didn't reply sooner.

Automatic -- I don't think GM made manuals available in any Tahoes, 2 or 4 door, after the new body style (1990s).

So it's the 4L80E auto trans. 3.73 gears, AM/FM cassette, A/C, front bucket seats with center console, overhead console, rear defrost & wiper, tailgate as you can see in the pics. Power windows & door locks. 4WD shifter -- lever on the floor. 3 gauge console in the center of the dash, above the stereo. I should have done an inside pic or two & will this weekend if I get the chance. Oh, & the inside is blue...

Kennedy FSD & cooler - late December 2004. New Bilstein shocks (std w/ Z71 pkg) beginning of 2001. Exhaust -- Jardine downpipe & muffler, Speedy installed with their 3" stainless pipes. Original catalytic converter still in place. All new fuel lines & sender, lift pump - August 2004. OPS from NAPA 2 weeks ago. I've had this since 1998, 65K miles, now at 254K.

New IP (my 3rd, 2nd replacement-1st replace was warranty about 67K miles) about 3 years ago, I can look up date & miles if you want.

The Vortec 350 is a solid engine. I have seem a few with messed intake manifold gaskets (close to firewall). If you dont catch them, they can leak coolant into oil ect, ect. Its a SBC, need I say more? Funny, my father-in-law is looking for a 2 door tahoe as well. Good trucks.

Sorry, I'm not catching your meaning:

"It's a SBC ..."

What's a SBC, please? I gotta keep up with the TLAs (Three Lette Acronyms ;)
