hello all,
I have a chance to purchase a 6.2 with about 28,000 miles. Does anyone know what it is worth? even a ballpark figure would help. It is a friend of mine and I do not want to cheat him nor me? thank you for all your help in advance and for a great page, Don Cannon

Well, I personally wouldn't pay any more than about $1000 for a good running 6.2l with low miles. I guess it depends on how badly you need it. I recently paid $1000 for a low mileage 99 6.5l, all mechanical, built to about 250 HP/500 lbf-ft...maybe that's where my figure came from LOL

Well i offered him $500.00 and he more or less is thinking about it. I really hope i do not have to go to $1000. My 6.2 still runs, but with 177,000 miles i begin to wonder how much life is left in it. thank you for the reply. at least now i know a thousand is not out of the question.
thank you again,
Don

I once gave $900 for a complete low mileage 6.2, but the military blazer it came with was included. I agree on if it's that low of mileage, that it could possibly be worth up to 1000. I think for this situation it would be fair for $750.

177K miles? You still got yourself a young 'un there! I'd go ahead and buy another engine, not running is OK, and use the at least 100K miles you have left on your engine to build up the one you buy.
