What is the procedure for pop testing injectors? My friends have a diesel injector testor made by Kleine. It has a resevoir for diesel and a lever that pumps pressure and a guage. I tried testing my old injectors (new ones are on order) With slowly pumping the arm, the injectors would either leak fuel or sometimes spray at aprox 1800psi. Pumping harder would produce a spray pattern. One injector would pulse multiple times as i maintained constant pressure, but i couldn't get it to repeat the test a second time after testin the others. But mostly they just leaked fuel or sprayed it and only got good atomization when I pumped hard.

So am I using this device correct or are my injectors just shot? i should also note that I was using biodiesel, but the viscosity is comparable to regular diesel.

Sounds like your injectors are in a bad condition.

I worked for a Bosch service center some 14-15 years
ago and restored diesel injectors. They should all
(i.e from the same engine) have a similar opening
pressure and give a fine spray pattern. There's not
supposed to be any leaks before they open at the
specified pressure.
