I think my fuel tank switching solenoid is in operative. Both tanks are full, yet my guage only reads 1/8. I have confirmed that the switch in the cab is working, and there is power going to the solenoid coresponding with the switch movement. How can I verify that the solenoid is not working? Also, could this effect the fuel guage not reading correctly? There are 5 wire going to the solenoid, Light green & dark green are the switchers, can anybody tell me what the other 3 are (brown and dark & light pink). Just want to verify this is my problem before spending the money on the solenoid.

You'll need solenoid ground and left tank-right tank fuel gage connections, usually pink.

Thanks for that info, should help out. Since the fuel guage sending unit info runs thru that, that could that also be the cause of my bogust meter readings? Any idea if that thing should click or make any noise I can hear or feel when it switches?
