What are the markings for a "J" block vs another build?

None that I am aware of, the 6.2 Blocks were the same block for the 660 block C or J. The differences though the years were the C cups used in the heads and the later heads 90+ having a different injector angle in the heads. But the block was the same, as long as its a 660 block, not a 599.

I have a pair of heads that I would like to find this out on. I do not know the VIN for the engine it came from. With the stamping on the head is there a way to tell?

only difference in the heads will be the pre-chambers, which can be changed.
