A customer of mine has a 92 GMC 1500, 2wd ext cab l-box. 6.2, 5 spd, big big miles, but runs ok. Frame is bent, truck has seen many miles of bush road running (owner is a logger) He'll let it go for $1000.00 $Can, which is about $800.00 US. Should I grab it for parts ? Would it make a good donor truck ? Has air, windows, locks, tilt, some works, some not, body is fair at best.

I'll go look it over closer and let ya'll know how bad it is. Will take some pics.

Sounds like a deal to me... just for the parts it's worth that much.

By the way... a logger with a 2wd truck? Must be a brave soul, or be a really good driver! You'd never see a 2wd logger's truck around here in WV.

Good luck...

It has 550,000km which is about 343,000. New pump in 2002, newer clutch, seems to shift and run okay, but not a good driver. She's been rode hard and put away wet. Frame is bent from overloading the box believe it or not. He had a colored fuel tank in the box right behind the cab and all the years of rough road running has finished it off. Frame was broken and repaired, yuck ! I was thinking of stripping the driveline out of it and just parting out what is left of the carcass. What should I save ? All the wiring, dash, etc. Fuel system, rear diff, ?
