I'll go for crew84's truck, it looks awsome and is a mile long :D I wish my driveway would fit a truck like that.

I'd have to agree, when I think of "truck" a 4x4 diesel crew cab longbed comes to mind!

Best photos of a great truck: Crew84. I wish I had the patience to do such an nice, complete resto on my truck.

Close second: mhagie, even if he does have a turbo on it. I like the early grille he used.

If this were a technical superiority contest, it would be Peter's twin turbo, no contest.

Dr. Lee

Crew84's truck is the best looking one for sure, but Peter's twin turbo'd Blazer is also very impressive...

My vote goes to Peter's HP-monster.

From a pure appearence standpoint IMHO I really like Dr. Lees cute little short box, there is something about them that I just like. Even if it does lack the main ingredient of a real truck, a TURBO. :D
A Toss up would be GMCTD I am also partial to cc duallys.
Especialy the 4x4 version they just give the impression of brute strength with that big ol straight axle up front and the duals in back,
awesome truck.
wish I had it and he had a feather.
Those two trucks top my list...........Merle

I'd have to say... that I can't really say! I like the looks of crew84's and Merle's trucks, the tech that went into Peter's twin turbo's, and any of the CUCV's for ugly! But since this is a photo contest, I guess it's Merle... (I like the ol' body style w/ the '80 grill)

Hey guys! I think some of you have this post wrong. It is separate from the Photo Contest the way that I read it. It included the 6.5 in the early trucks. Morepower also said BEST with us setting the criteria. He said the criteria in the Photo Contest was first set on how Photogenic it was and second was improvements, etc. I am going go with the criteria first of all around usefulness as a driver. Just go down the highway and look what is being used. IMHO To me that narrowed the search to Suburbans and Crewcabs. Sorry but I do not see many Blazers or CVCUs still on the road. Second usefulness of improvements. Does it help to haul/pull. Going down the road I see Suburbans with trailers/families. Crewcabs with trailers/families/loads. Third looks.
All that said and being partial to Crews :D ,
gmctd has my vote hands down

I appreciate the good words, guys, BUT.....

I withdrew my pics from the contest - the post was an excercise in learning how to get that little blue link in my sig.
I repair computers and such for a living - been doing it over 50 years - but hanged if I can figger out how to use one. Took me 6 months, over Fall-Winter '99, just to get on this website.

So, again, thanks, and good luck to you all.

Each one of you has a remarkable vehicle in it's own right - just glad I do not have to make that final decision.

I took the purpose of this thread was for you to give your favorite 6.2 powered 82-91 Chevy/GMC vehicle. I thought it was unrelated to the Photo contest? Am I wrong?

.......Well, after a week or so, I guess I must be wrong. I guess this is the voting for the other thread afterall....

In that case, I'll vote for crew84 as well, since I wish my truck was as clean as his. My runner up goes to chetp, for the nice swap into the older body style (even though it doesn't really fit the rules). Now, if it was only 4wd... tongue.gif

I vote for "fumes" 1985 GMC van. Its unusual/different, and it runs well. I saw it on the dyno at "BD" in Abottsford BC at the 2002 "Diesel Page "rendezvous, and it put out some good power. A real "sleeper" ;)

Looks like crew84 is the hands down winner. I agree that he did an excellent job with the restoration.

So, crew84, please contact me with your choice in the contest prize.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the photo contest, either by showing your rig or by voting.
