Hello all:

Here's the deal: I've got a
1984 C20 w/150K miles. Factory oil guage at idle reads 20 psi and then at any throtle setting above which, the needle goes way past 80, the most the guage will indicate and stays there until the engine is back at idle speed. The truck started doing this a few weeks ago. Prior to this, I got a solid 35 psi reading pretty much all the time.

My questions:
1. Has anyone else experienced this?
2. If so, what was found to be the ultimate cause?

Please only respond if this has happened to you. I just want a succinct answer and don't care about your Uncle's buddy that this happened to in a Pinto back in the seventies. Spelling and grammar count.

Regards,
Dave Little

Replace the old guage sender unit.

Also, check the connection at the sender on the drivers side rear of the engine. A loose connection could cause what you're seeing, as you rev the engine, the conection breaks pegging the gauge.
