Does anyone have one of these that they'd be willing to loan out, or know where to get one and how much they run? I'm replacing the lower control arm on a 96 Blazer and there's not a tool rental place or dealership around that has one to rent or buy. Thanks in advance!

I have unloaded the torsion bar by first supporting the vehicle with jack stands then keeping a floor jack under the lower control arm. I then unbolt the shock absorber, the stabilizer end link, the axle spindle nut, the brake caliper, and the upper ball joint, after you break the ball joint loose from the knuckle you lower the floor jack to drop the control arm and knuckle assy, you will have to push the axle shaft out of the hub bearing as you drop the knuckle assy, and that will unload the torsion bar without the special tool.
By the way if you have ABS then you would need to undo the sensor also.
