I am fixing to do an oil change on my Blazer but have no clue how much oil it takes. I picked up a case if Delo 400 so I have plenty on hand, aling with a Napa Gold oil filter (is this an OK choice?).
There is no onwer's manual in the rig. Is there a website or a page on TDP that lists the specs of the 6.2 such as bore, stroke and everything else? Heck I don't even know what the dispacement is in CID.
Lastly I forgot to get a fuel filter for this beast. It's mounted on the firewall with a petcock on the bottom. Is repriming a PITA after a filter change?
Thanks for answering this newbee's many questions :D

well i'd start with 7 qts and then start and run it for 20 -30 seconds shut it off and let it set for a little bit and check it.my old 84 6.2 took 7 but my 92 with the 6.5 takes 8 so you never know.as for size cubic inch to metric conversion is litres x61 so 6.2x61=378.2 but they are actually 379 or 381 iv'e seen both used but what the actual is you would have to get into bore and stroke, bore being pi(3.14)x radius squared x stroke times 8 .so if bore is 4 inch the radius would be half that or 2,squared which is 2x2 or 4 times 3.14 which is 12.56 x stroke of 4 is 50.24then x 8 cyls equals 401.92.

If the bore is 4.00" and stroke is 3.81" that comes to 383.0 cubic inches.
No web pages with exact specs?
The bore should be 3.980".

As far as the filters go, there is one on the firewall, which is the primary, and there is also a secondary filter under the air cleaner, behind the intake. You need to take off the three bolts that hold the secondary filter to the intake. I don't re-prime after a filter change, I just fill the filters and housings with fuel, and it always fires on the first try. I have an 83' k-5 6.2
