i have heard a little about red motors in 82 model year vehicles. I have a red motor in my 82 K20 Suburban, is there really any difference between this one and the later years?

The important thing is whether it (any 6.2 block purchase) is guaranteed crack free. I owned an red 82 6.2, and the block was crack-free at 170,000 miles. This engine was rebuilt and then Banks turbo'ed shortly thereafter.
