Will cetane boosters work with biodiesel or will pouring using it with biodiesel just waste my money?

Thanks,
Kyle

Depending on what the biodiesel is made out of will determine whether the cetane booster will help.

Soy biodiesel could benefit from the cetane booster, but will not benetif from additives that improve the lubricity, because bio has a higher level of lubricity than #2 Diesel.

The biodiesel made in my area is made from cotton seed oil, and actually has a higher amount of energy than regular diesel (so I've been told by some local researchers at my place of work USDA ARS). I'm also told that using a blended biodiesel that improved fuel economy was also seen.

What biodiesel are you going to be running? What percentage are you going to run B10, B20, or straight B100?

It is made from soy oil and I will probably run B100, because it it cheaper to buy than normal diesel now.
