Does somebody know what id means?
In driver's side head was seen K155 and 14077162 when I took valve cover out... Engine is rebuilted so parts can be whatever...
HD intake for example.

Can block itself be identified somehow
(age etc.)?

I can tell you it's not the same head that's fitted to the CUCV military 6.2L "J" diesel.

HI to Britanic, I was referred to you with a question about putting a 6.2/6.5 liter diesel in a mid 80's Caprice. I understand that you have done this conversion. How difficult was it and how did it turn out? What kind of mileage did you get with it? What upgrades did you have to do to suspension, etc. to make it work well. Thanks for any info. Dan Eyk

Hello guys!

Well, when I bought this Caprice 2.5 years ago, it was allready swapped by shop where they rebuilt 6.2/6.5 engines, pumps etc. It had 70.000km after rebuilt. What I have now seen during this time is that there is enough room for 6.2/6.5, mine has th200r4 transmission. Front springs were changed, brake discs and bearings. I have changed Koni gas to front and springs and air shocks rear. Dual batteries, diesel 3-row radiator, just swapped Hydroboost system last weekend.

One difference I found out is the cyl. 7 injector. It has shorter body than other 7 injectors (all are Bosch) because the steering axle goes close by...

It is not very strange here in Finland that caprice has 6.2 or 6.5 diesel... one liter 95 octane unleaded is 1.20 US$, diesel is 80 cent/litre... and Caprice takes about 11-12 litre/100km in city...
