Today my truck died. She was only 10 years old. In leiu of flowers donations may be made to the "get Joe a new truck" foundation.
To make matters worse I've finally had it with GM. I'm switching over to Ford. I'm sorry, I think a motor should last more than 230K before a rod starts knocking. Sounds like the thing is about to take off. I can't believe the auto trans lasted longer than the engine. BTW it was full of water & oil (both in the right spots) when it died.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST,
Joe

It could be an injector, did you check?
Don't bury it alive...

I have to say that 230K is pretty respectable. If the body is still nice (Texas truck) you could repower it with all the go-hard goodies for around $7,000, and have another 200K miles for cheap.

But, if you must become a Ford-boy...lol

I put new injectors & glow plugs in it. Dealer gave me $2500.00 for It. I took the money & ran.
