I have an 82 Sub with 80k on rebuild. I've been losing power over time and have been told to try adjusting the pump timing by one of the local shops. Several questions about changing the timing on my injector pump. What is the easiest way to twist the pump to move the adjustment and how far apart are the stops from one end to the other. I adjusted it to the right about 1/8 of an inch last night and its better but would like to go farther.

The best way to set your timing is to use a timing meter and baseline the pump to TDC @ 1400rpm, scribe a reference mark on the timing cover to match the pump's line and then advance pump from there at your own risk.

YMMV, but without knowing base timing, advancing more than 1/8" between the timing lines toward the driver's side can lead to overheating and piston damage.
