700r4 rebuilds

I'm fixing to rebuild the tranny in my 87 6.2 sub. I will use it some to pull my jeep and racecar. What upgrades can be done to it to make it stronger? I have heard about putting more clutchs in o/d and bigger valve into the valve body? Any certain brand bands/clutches to use?

Talk to companies like Art Carr, TCI and Jet. They all offer parts to make a very stout 700R4. I bought mine from Art Carr - they built it specifically for a diesel and towing and it is rated for 650ft/lbs. They offer all the internal parts to rebuild yours to the same specs.
