Almost ready to come out

Well, I got out there this afternoon and started unhooking stuff to pull my engine for the trip to Diesel Depot. After a little debate I decided the best bet for now is to get one of there used J code engines. I'm not certain yet whether I'll do the 6.5 or stay 6.2 but I figure I can't go wrong either way. Should have the old one out Saturday and head down to Sandersville on Wednesday. At least that's the plan right now.

Well, I'm down to 4 bolts holding her in place. Now just waiting for my buddy with a jeep to come pull me up the driveway so I can hoist it out on concrete instead of grass. Be a little easier that way. Talked to Benny at the Diesel Depot again. Plan to head that way next Wednesday after work (7ish AM) and do a quick round trip. Put the new to me engine on the stand and start putting stuff back on. It's coming together.

Good to hear you're making progress, I second the moving to concrete to do the work, the engine hoists don't work or wheel very well on the soil. Sometimes they can be dangerous, when a wheel sinks in, etc.

Your decision to repower the truck with the J 6.2 is a good one, I wish I was somewhat close to Avant!

Halfway there. The old broken engine is sitting in the carport hooked to the hoist waiting on Dad to get here Wednesday AM for the trip to Diesel Depot. Probably won't get it in the truck Wednesday, but plan to start Thursday. Might be rattling at me by the weekend.
