Hello,
I am proceeding slowly with my 6.2L conversion into a 1964 GMC 1/2 ton Suburban. The engine and new Bowtie 700r4 are installed. I have been fitting the inner fenders and radiator support and now it's obvious that I won't be using the huge radiator from the donor C-30 truck.
It would sure be easy to use a radiator the same size as the original that came with the GMC for the 305E V6. Thats leaves me wondering if it would be big enough for the job, and also could I get one that has both trans and engine oil cooling heat exchangers. I found US radiator on the web, and they do make one that would fit, with trans cooler only. Do I really need the oil cooler in the radiator for this application?

I'd go ahead and use an external engine oil cooler with thermostat to help with warmups on cold days. Find a cooler with JIC fittings and you could make a sharp-looking set of braided stainless hoses with anodized or plated fittings, too.

Are you interested in selling the C30 radiator? I'm in desperate need of one and one I bought on eBay a while back was damaged during shipment, with UPS unwilling to take responsibility so till they do I'm out my money and a radiator

I'd be happy to sell it. It's quite a large beast for shipping across the country. I could band it to a pallet and ship it with a freight company.
