This question is directed to those who have done the turbo swap to the MHI.

What is the costs involved in switching a Banks turbo 6.2 over to the MHI setup?

Did you use a new turbo or find one used?

I got a used turbo out of a junkyard for $100. It checked out at the my local turbo shop, so there was no rebuild needed. Hopefully you will be as lucky as I was.

Modifying the downpipe is straight forward. Just put a V flange in place of the 6 bolt flange. I cut the flange off of my father's old 6.5TD downpipe, and used that. Buying a flange new costs anywhere from $10-$15, and welding can be done for less than $20, or if you can TIG it yourself.

Here are some pictures of my turbo:

I found a brand new one on eBay for a 3rd of Bank's retail cost; check the link in my sig. below for pictures of the flange, etc.

The MHI TE06H that I'm using, was originally part of the Banks' Sidewinder kit for the Ford 6.9L and 7.3L powerstroke engines.
