I have a 1984 M1008 CUCV that has had a 12V conversion retaining the passenger side alternator.

I was tightening the power steering belt and when I loosened the adjuster nut that attaches to the front of the aluminum housing on the front of the engine (timing cover/water pump housing?) and out weeps some coolant.

http://www.fullsizejeeps.com/jeeps/files/Misc-Pictures/PSpumpbolt.jpg I tighten it back up and the leak does not stop. It was difficult to loosen the nut and it felt like the stud may have turned rather than the nut?

Nothing is ever easy. Of course I really don't want to tear down the entire front clip to fix this, but it is leaking enough to be a PITA and it is not environmentally safe.

Any suggestions on an easy fix?

If it's leaking past the threads of the stud, reove the stud and clean it up, and use some teflon pipe thread seal dope on the threads, and reinstall.
