. . . or a low miles per year contest . . .

I have owned my '84 since 1991, and I have put on 80,000 miles in 14 years, or about 5715 miles per year. This includes driving from Miami to Montana and back three times . . .

You'd win over that one. I will average about 10,000 a year on mine. I bought it in March '03 with 110,000 and it has almost 139,000 now.

Started my restore project in 1994 when I bought the base for this project a 1975 1/2 ton 4x4.
With a 84 cab and 85 box from Texas a 80 silverado nose via GM parts,An Avant/Banks 6.5. Fired it in summer of 03, as of today it has 1145 miles.
Of course it is parked for the winter.

mhagie, Cool project! smile.gif

I heard of a project buildup a few years ago that peaked my interest. A member from back east bought a 1984 Chevrolet Silverado 20 series cab, front clip and box from a company that purchased the truck brand new, removed the sheet metal, then converted the chassis to produce a Zimboni (sp..?) for ice skating rinks.

Anyways... the cab, front clip and box had been stored for nearly 15 years and were in like new condition.

I think this one would win, hands down!

Yep, that would be tough.

Hmmm, let's see...

19K on engine, 0 on trans, 80K on transfer case/body/axles. Overall project has about 1100 miles, but that was on the back of a flatbed when we moved from WA to CA. So, 2.5 years and no miles.

bought mine in 01...have put just over 10,0000 on it since then. It's spent a lot of time in my driveway while I called it names and insulted its parentage.

My 1984 has about 105,000 original miles on it....
