I have just gotten my truck running with my 6.5 turbo diesel it. I used a septentine belt drive off of a 92 model 6.2 that I had just got for parts. When I got it belt was frayed at edges. Put new belt on went for one short trip ok, this morning start out and it pitches the belt. Anyone have an idea on where to start and what to look for? I gotta get to drive this thing some.

Use a straightedge to check for pulley alignment among all of the pulleys. If OK, look for a bent pulley or bad bearing, and check the belt tensioner for proper operation.

Check the condition of the rubber isolated crank pulley. Is it flexing excessively with belt tension? Does the rubber allow too much movement? Is the rubber cracked?

turned out to be the ac pump was wrong for the diesel. The pulley has the wrong spacing on it.
