I have been checking at my local wal mart for a oil filter for my Duramax. Had to go to my local Orielly parts store to get one. Today I checked again and Fram lists in their catalog, and on their website, a Extra Guard PH9100. Wal Mart had plenty in stock and they only cost $2.97! Has anyone used this filter? I bought one just for the hell of it. I don't know if I should use it or not. I put it up next to a AC Delco filter I bought and it looks the exact same size except its about 1/8 of an inch shorter.

Gregmican,

I have been there and done that. Frams, are not worth the time of day especially on a $4800 engine. The following link will answer your questions.

Stick with the AC or an Amsoil filter. Frams are not as good as they used to be.......
