When my 2006 CC short bed arrives I want to install a 45 gal. transflow replacement tank.
I have a few questions.

#1 will the DIC still work or do you have to reprogram it for the MPG to be correct.

#2 Any problems with the slight decreased ground clearance?

#3 Do you have to replace the filler neck also?

#4 do you have to change the fuel gauge or just use it as is?

#5 Anyone actually using this tank?

#1 DIC will still work, but miles remaining will be wrong.
#2 It is longer and lower, but I've never had any problems.
#3. LLY'S come with the bigger filler neck, so it doesn't need replaced.
#4 You use the existing fuel sender.
#5 I use this tank, and have also installed 3 or 4 of them.
Its also my understanding that the new (2006) will have a different engine and transmission. I doubt they would change the tank, but would make sure before I ordered a tank. The LB7 and LLY tanks are different

Hope this helps, tpitt

May want to let someone else try the fit up on the 2006 first. There may be some significant changes in store, then again, the tank may remain the same.

The fuel cooler is being eliminated ;) so there may be other changes in store.

Thanks for the replys.

Tpitt,,Thats what I figured with the DIC, I don't care about the miles till empty but wanted the MPG to work...Sounds like this will be a good upgrade..

Kennedy,,,Good advice,,I will wait a couple of months to put in the 45 gal tank,,just want it in by December as I will hitting the road for a few months then...
