STP oil filters

Autozone has them for 4.99. Looks like a well made unit from the outside. One concern I had is that it has no ridges to grip to make it easier to remove. Has anyone out there cut one open yet?

I bought two of them a couple weeks ago. I will be changing my oil this weekend and plan on using one of the 9100 STP's. I went to sears and got some strap wrenches so I can tighten and remove these filters. $4.99 beats the $8 I was paying for the Hastings and $14 the dealership wants!

I am using one of the STP filters, it looks identical to the champion filter I removed, and in fact I believe it said made my champion labs on the side of the filter.
