Cruise Control

While towing my boat yesterday the cruise control would not engage. Had a broken wire in the trailer wiring. Disconnected trailer wiring and cruise control worked. What is the connection with the trailer lights and cruise? :confused:

My truck did the exact same thing last year. The wires must be tied into the dash lights also as they were dimmed and the cruise did not work. It turns out that I had a bad light bulb that was grounding out or something. I changed the bulb and cleaned the socket and it has worked perfect ever since then.

My guess is that you are getting voltage on the brake light circuit some way and that is turning the cruise off just like when you hit the brake petal. Just a guess!!

flyboy good answer ! I agree 100% feed back on the break lamps locks out the cruise. smile.gif
