When I start the truck up today in the morning the thing shines the SES light back at me. This offcourse annoys the hell out of me since this is a new truck which should not be telling me these things.

Go to drive it, and sure enough its in limp mode. Which means I have to take it to the dealer NOW. Dealer scans it and it comes back with code P0181 Fuel Temp sensor code "If intake air temp and fuel temp are more than 10 degrees apart code will set" per GMC. GM is working on software upgrade to correct this problem!!!!

I never heard of this problem till now and the tech said they had a truck that did the exact same thing last week, hence the software revision request. Anyone ever hear of this or experience it before???

Try a search for SES, block heater, fuel temp sensor etc. and you'll come up with plenty of reading.

My 01' 2500 has done that twice. Both times was when it was above 25 degrees and used the block heater. Cold nights below 20 or so no problems. It never went into limp mode just the ses light with 0181 code.
