I had to get a new water pump on my truck last week...it had a leak they could not get sealed up so they replaced everything and all is good now. I had a Cavilier rag car...I mean rental car...while the bullet was in the shop. I did not realize how much I missed my truck until I got it back. After getting it back I towed a 20' camper from Dallas to San Angelo...it was 107 degrees in the concrete jungle and the engine ran pretty cool, but the tranny hit 210!!! Not to concerned as it was in slow moving traffic. After heading out west, I hit Ranger Hill at 75mph (6% grade)...it never downshifted and I only lost 3mph on the way up as I was blowing by every truck/trailer on the hill!!! This was no mountain pass, but the biggest hill within 300 miles of Dallas. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!

I can't wait for Colorado in September...Bring on Monarch Pass!!! Last year hauling a loaded flatbed I could only get about 35-40mph by the time I hit the top of the pass with many downshifts and MANY RPMs...can't wait to see how this truck will do!!! 36 days, but who is counting!!! :D

HD,
I will probably be back one more time before bow season opens. We are actually a few miles east of Robert Lee, but San Angelo was the closest big town for point of reference. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll let you when I will be coming back to the area.

Silver Bullet- The weekend I purchased my D/A ,I think some of you had a meeting to get together a bunch for a Duramax club. I have not seen or heard any mention of another get together. Is one planned? I don't live far from you and would be interested. I have been attending the Big D Dodge Diesel Club for 4 years now as a wanna be. I guess I jumped ship when I bought the Duramax. Thanks

Silver Bullet- I was also wondering if you purchased your Fumoto valve locally? Thanks again.

Powerstrokes are known for bad water pumps 30,000 miles and up. It's around $700 to have it done.

Raptorrider2001 - Shoot me an e-mail (see sig). Our 1st get together was nothing formal...there is no club. It is just some local people off TDP that wanted to meet face-to-face to look at and talk DMaxs. A couple folks have mentioned wanting to do it again soon.

On edit: I ordered my Fumoto from Greg at lubespecialist.com. He is member of TDP. Be sure to get it with the nipple.

Hoot - I am not sure what exactly happened to water pump except springing a leak they could not seal up until they replaced it. My truck is running great now and I can't wait for the Colorado trip! 34 days, but who is counting!!! :D
