I read somewhere that one of the digital gauges makes a humming noise. I was just wondering if it was the Dokota Digital and how you like them?
If anyone makes the panel that holds them to put them up into the overhead console.

I've never heard this about the SPA. If anyone has FIRST HAND experience, please speak up. What I have heard is the low level, high pitched whine that some Isspro gauges make.

Eddie,
Several of us have installed the Dakota Digital gauges in the overhead console. It makes a nice installation. smile.gif smile.gif We cut the existing panel to mount the gauges.

Installed my DD's last week. Thanks to Bob (Tinbender) and Jim Bigley for the informative posts/articles. Went in like a snap and I'm very pleased with the finished product.

I installed them up top also. My friend makes a EXACT copy of the panel out of aluminum then we mountd the guages in the custom panel. Had it painted first at the local body shop, nice guy, he did not even charge me for it and it was a perfect match.

Thanks that's what I was wanting to know. I think I will try a set. I was just wanting to talk to someone that knew about them.

i saw tinbender's install and really like it!
I have an 02 LS with the small overhead console, just lights and a cubby hole for opener etc.
I was wondering if the blank panel, part#15737207, will work in this console also, to mount the gauges in. Can you buy this plastic panel in the color that matches, ie. graphite?
Also, are the gauges the ODY-12-1 for EGT and ODY-09-1 for boost? Did you just get the long sending unit kits or have to add more to that?
Thanks for any reply!

Check out the pics in my sig (in more pics) see if the is the small console you are talking about.
Tinbender did a great job on the kit he made

DD gauges are great. Only downfall is 3 digit display.

Goood luck,

CALIMAX,

Is the panel maker local? Where's the free paint shop?

mattb5150, Team Eagle Fabrication is there in Gilroy 848-6333, tell him Ken sent you. The paint shop is in Morgan Hill called The Dent Clinic. Not sure what he normally charges, I think he did mine for free since we are neighbors, but he should have the paint on hand and it is a perfect match.
