Well i finally decided to attack changing the fuel filter myself. Actually it was quite easy to do. First i broke the bleeder screw on top & opened drain valve on bottom to drain some fuel & water out, there wasn't any water that i noticed. Next i loosened filter with my wrench & unscrewed & lifted out from top of engine. Next changed bottom water sensor thingy to new filter & installed o'rings then screwed new filter on & primed till fuel came out of bleeder screw. She fired rite up... I was so releived & i saved my self at least $50.00 for what the stealer charges to do.
My boss has the duramax also & we did his also afterwards. We did both trucks in under an hour.
When i dumped fuel out of filters it seemed very clean there was only some small particles that came out. Wish i could of cut the filters open to see what was inside of them.
