finally felt comfy testing out the new truck with the juice on board. it has about 2500ish miles on it. it's a stripped 4x4 reg cab with allison.

not sure what the weight is yet, probably around 5800ish if i had to guess. torsion bars in stock location, 285 revos and full fuel tank with empty bed, no passengers

at my top secret test site (same site as the previous lb7 and 6.5td tests) i had the following results for 1/4 mile runs:

level 5 15.7 92 just to get a feel, 2wd no brakes
level 0 17.4 84 2wd no brakestand
level 1 16.3 85 2wd no brakestand
level 2 16.2 88 2wd no brakestand
level 3 15.6 90 2wd, powerbrake at 1300rpm
level 4 15.4 93 2wd, powerbrake at 1300rpm
level 5 15.0 94 2wd, powerbrake at 1500rpm
0-60 6.4 2wd, powerbrake at 1500rpm

best times were all in 2wd as i didn't do any high boost launches. tow/haul on, no defuel any shifts, low boost set to max.

foot flat to the floor times (early runs) were dog slow in 1st gear then picked up strong and pulled hard.

level 4 and 5 gave tire spin off the line with 5 getting rubber into 2nd gear each time in 2wd.

observation: nowhere near the torque of the 2003 LB7 hot juice in a significantly heavier truck but seems to pull harder once at the top of third and higher gears. (LB7 also had 4" exhaust and k&n fipk on it) have not dyno'd or g-teched for hp yet but will.

with a high boost 4wd launch, no doubt i would be very solidly into the 14's, probably mid 14's in good conditions.

but with foot flat to the floor at the start, LB7 solidly trounces LLY in first gear. all times with the LB7 were taken this way, with no powerbraking. best 0-60 in the LB7 was 5.56. also had a 6.5sec in the rain with wheelspin all the way through to 40mph and multiple other sub-6 second times.

not sure how much the beat-on tranny in the 2003 hurt its times compared to the freshy in the new truck.....

here is LB7 data from previous post last month

Pretty good numbers overall.

Did you set the Attitude to no EGT limiter?

Would be interesting to get some exhaust backpressure info for both the LB7 & LLY. I have a sneaking suspicion that the VNT Garrett isn't quite as free-flowing as the original turbo.

Thanks for the update...

have not hooked up any of the sending units yet. did the plug in a la original juice only so far.

work is starting to slow enough that tapping for egt and boost and maybe installing jk 4" exhaust from the 2001 and 2003 LB7 ext cabs will happen soon
