I'm running w/juice on 4. Of course I keep hearing the praises of the hot juice. I'm wondering if the performance(fun factor) justifies the cost of the upgrade(including guages). If anyone has run times with the G-tech comparing the two I would appreciate it. If not, any input would be appreciated. I know times aren't everything but they tend to be more objective. If I do upgrade, would anyone consider a package deal(guages and reflash)? hint, hint,

14.71 @ 89.44 - juice
14.30 @ 92.46 - hot juice
4wd launches 1.9X 60' times at the dragstrip

how much fun do you want to spend? It only took $1600 to get my truck there including gauges. Try that with a gasser or a PS or Cummins diesel, you'll spend more and there's more than just a chip, airbox & muffler involved

The Juice run was made Aug 9 at the US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI @ 7:15pm (temp 75F / dew pt 55F / humidity 49% / bar pres 30.24) The HOT Juice run was made Oct 12 at the Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, MI @ 3:40pm (temp 70F / dew pt 60F / humidity 75% / bar pres 29.98)

were those taken the same day? If not, what were the weather conditions like on each day?

My 3500 D/A 4x4 ext. cab complete with 12000lb winch, brushguard, full-length nerf bars, and goosneck hitch ran the following:

1st pass-
2wd launch @ 10psi
R/T 0.710
16.544 @ 86.40
tires smoked through 1st and 2nd

2nd pass-
4wd launch @ 10psi
R/T 0.479
15.009 @ 86.84

Thats with Hot Juice, Amsoil Airfilter, and Kennedy 4-5" Exhaust. The 60' time of the 4wd launch was faster than the Z06 vette's that I towed to the track!

Dave-
I need launch instructions.

I was getting 0-60 times pretty consistently at 8.8 to 8.9 before the Juice.

Now I am getting 0-60 times of 7.7 to 7.8. Three or four pounds of boost is smoking the tires in first and the tranny seems to be almost jumping past 2 into third gear and leaving another 10 feet of black stripes.

I haven't tried 4wd, that's torture on the TC.

WhaddamIdoinrong???

There are some minor factors at play- the 285's are slightly taller than the 305's and narrower so they may be hooking up less. They are new and the tread seems to light up easily. Other than that I got an Amsoil filter and 4" exhaust.

Thanks for the times guys. I guess what I should ask is: With the cost of upgrading to hot juice and adding gauges (about$500.) is the difference between juice#4 and Hot Juice #4 worth it? Any input is appreciated.

MountainMax,

You should really have the gauges no matter what. It's nice to see in real time what's going on. Put that aside and what are we talking here??? $200-250 for the HOT Juice  .

Go For it :D . I had the regular and the difference with 125hp IMHO is worth it just for the Grin Factor smile.gif

Keep us posted.

the trick is torque management..........build the most boost that produces the least wheelspin......and let her rip........use towhaul the torqueconverter locks up quicker :D dave

MountainMax,

I would get the gauges no matter what. The higher the elevation, the worse the EGTs get. It doesn't get much higher than Leadville smile.gif .
