Allison HELP

[Tow Go 2]

Last night on my way home I braked hard to keep from missing a turn, after I went around the corner and went to accelerate it seemeed like it free wheeled and then SLAMMED into gear. It seemed to accelerate slower than normal. When I stopped and continued the engine wound up to about 1800 rpm before the truck started to move.

Has anyone had any simular trans problems? I do have the check engine light on but haven't checked for the code.

PS The engine is stock, no power adders! 62000 miles.

Don't know about the allison, but on other transmissions, I would think the fluid was low. or clogged filter. Considering you braked hard, maybe you sucked some air through the pump. but I wouldn't think you would do that unless low on fluid. Thats where I would start--fluid level and filter.

Mine does the same thing after it sits for a couple of days not driven I believe that this is the norm for the Allison other people have talked about this slip on take off in the past also it seems like sometimes some one rearends you after you stop fast.
