For some of you this may not be long, but next weekend we are starting a 3K mile round trip trek from San Jose, CA to Whistler BC with stops in Salem, Seattle, Vancouver and Whistler.

I am going to my pre-trip checklist that includes oil, tranny fluid, brake fluid, coolant
and such.

The truck has less than 5K miles on it so I don't expect any problems.

However, if any of you have their favourite GM dealer on route, please feel free to post it here so I can keep a printout with me just in case.

Is Diesel #2 available in Canada? Is it cheaper than 1.40 a gallon.

Thanks

Bora

ps. If you spot a black CC with a camper shell and california license plates that would be us.

#2 diesel does not exist in Canada. We use a different grading system.
Seasonal diesel is available at all retail pumps. If you have commercial cardlock through Chevron (CFN) you have access to seasonal diesel and dyed diesel. If you take a chance and use dyed fuel you save $0.08 per liter but you run the risk of getting caught though I have not been checked in over 20 years but that could change tomorrow.

Don't forget a fuel filter, a filter wrench and baggy for the old filter.

And a camera to take pics of all of the beautiful scenery, and the guy you're gonna steal the Dmax T-shirt from...

Have a great trip!!

Regards ,Steve

Just got back from the trip.
2400 miles round trip averaging 19 mpg driving around 70 mph with highest gas mileage at 20 mpg.

This is with 4 people, one dog and a load of luggage in the back. Camper shell does improve the mileage IMHO.

No problems with the truck.
