Well, I'm here in Texas. Travelled from NH to New Orleans down the Appalatian Mnts and now on I10 in Beaumont, Tx.
I'm towing a 35' 5th wheel RV at 13000 lbs +-. Towing MPG to date has averaged 10.2-10.7 mpg either using my calculator or the in dash computer. I guess in my case the in dash is fairly accurate.

My old 7.5l gas engine never got better than 6.8 or so. This is what I hoped for in MPG from a diesel. While my solo MPG is only 17ish and disappointing, the towing MPG is great. This is with a Juice at setting #1. No lack of power either. :D

We pull a 7000 pound trailer and average 15 MPG. This was driving up a down hill after hill in Eastern Canada. Surprising enough we get 6 MPG going up a 6% grade. i found the truck's computer to be accurate.

3500 Dually Quad Cab

Empty - around 17 or so
Towing a 28 box car trailer ~9000 lbs - 10 or so depending on speed
Towing a 42 foot boat and trailer weighing 18,000 lbs - 11 or so

Just goes to show that aerodynamics are important.

My wife's Hummer H2 with 6.0 gas motor gets about 10-11 on a good day!
