Banks Exhaust on 04.5 Dmax

I have recently traded my '01 for a '04.5 with the LLY engine. I had the Banks exhaust system on the LB7. My '04.5 has a cat. Can anyone give me info on installing the Banks on the LLY. Do I keep the cat on or remove it?

Banks and other exhaust system manufacturers all offer exhaust systems made to work with a cat.

You'll need to keep the cat if you live in an area of the country that requires diesel emissions certification. If not, and if you decide to remove it, you'll need to remove it yourself because due to the EPA regulations, shops won't do it for you. Technically, vehicles with a cat must maintain the cat.

Why would you want to remove the CAT? I just got my 05 and I can't believe how much less the exaust choke is. When your behind the truck I swear it almost smells like a gas engine. I'm very impressed.
