Does anyone out there know if there are any differences in EGTs between stock exhaust and a four inch exhaust?

It will lower your egt about 150*f. and make about 1~2 lbs more boost

I have a Banks 4" system and a K&N Aircharger kit. My pre-turbo EGT's are 900 max and usually around 850. My boost is 24-25 psi post intercooler. I didn't have the gauges hooked up before the 4" exhaust so I have nothing to compare them with, but I have heard from guys on this forum that their EGT's pre-turbo are anywhere from 1100-1200 in stock form.

Thanks for the replies! Do you get about the same reduction in EGTs using the KENNEDY OR BANKS SYSTEMS?

Thanks

alamovet,

I would say so ...... A 4" is a 4" ....It's a matter of choice and sound ........ Most mufflers are a straight thru design ........ All have their own different sounds ....... Most you can turn the muffler one way for a quieter sound ....... Still get the same results ,of lower EGT'S ............ Don't do it for the increase of power it's nill to nothing with all systems .......... I think some , individuals think, because it sounds meaner, they think they are hauling more a** ........I'm not convinced ....... Take your pick ......... I'm going BANKS, once I'm done hammering out a price .........
MAC :D

I have a Kennedy 4", and have gotten a 150+ drop in EGT, post turbo. If you are towing at or near max GCW, I think a 4" is a must.
