states that all diesels in 05 have 34gal tanks?

I hope not, cuase I used half a tank for my weekly commute, which would put me under 10 mpg.

The way I read it, it looks the same as previous years. 26 gal for shortbox, 34 for long. Looks like you missed that.

standard box, all models (except diesel): 25.9 / 98;
long box, all models (plus all diesels): 34 / 128.7 Don't worry. It happens.

Just delete the thread before anyone else sees it :D

Read the specification section of your owner`s manual> Only the long beds have the 34 gal. tanks.

There are a few misleading items in that article, which includes almost every truck that GM builds, from 1500's to 3500's. I tried to get a 145amp alt, but it is only available in the snow plow prep package, which is only available with a few cab configurations, not with a crew cab etc. So I went with dual 105 amp alts.
Long beds 34 gal, short beds 26 gal fuel tanks. smile.gif

I just bought an 05 short bed; it's certainly a 26 gal tank. Measured at the pump.... I *wish* it were a 34 gal tank (or even a little larger)...

You are not kidding. I hate the dinky 26 gallon tank. I also thought for 05 that all diesels got the bigger tank but when I picked up my 05 I was disappointed to find the smaller tank. Oh well, maybe one day the General will get it right.
