Well, kinda like Steve, I got a deal on an 03 DMAX that I just couldn't pass up. Traded in the mighty thirsty 8.1L and saw the diesel light!! :D
Man what a ride!!! It is an 03 GMC D/A CC short bed fully loaded. The dealer even swaped the 265's that were on my 01 HD to the new 03 HD for a nominal fee and let me basically strip down the accessories on the 01. Not bad!!
Funny, I was messing with the instant mpg on the message center on the way home from the dealer last night and when we were going downhill with no throttle and got it up to 38mpg!! hehehehe Ok so I like to mess with things!!!
WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

Proud to be a DMAX owner!!! Now to get up to speed with you guys and gals on all this diesel stuff!! Pics coming once there is enough light to take. Guess I need to update my signature as well!! :D

I TOO SAW THE LIGHT AND ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO PASSED MY 8.1 ON DOWN THE COMPANY LADDER FOR A DURAMAX...........YOU WANT BE DISAPPOINTED........THE DURAMAX STOCK IS A TREMENDOUS VEHICLE..........FOR THE PRICE OF WHAT MOST WOULD SPEND ON A BRUSHGUARD/WINCH COMBO......YOU CAN TRANSFORM IT INTO UNBELIEVABLE POWER LEVELS........ :D ..DAVE

Dont look at the Instant MPG when you have the pedal buried!

Congrats on your new toy!

I agree, the 8.1L is a strong motor and it pulled our 10k 5er really well, but the gas mileage was just less than we thought it would have been. Getting 6mpg and having to fill up every 100 miles was not getting us anywhere when trying to camp, unless it was locally.
May have to play a little more and work on the 99mpg thing!! hehehehe

Found a good excuse to go driving tonight.... hey honey, wanna go look at houses with Christmas lights?? :D

52 miles on her already....

Congrats Bob!

You won't regret the decision, but just don't let your wife drive it too much...she'll want one of her own! :D

The Canuck version does even better - you can get 0 litres per 100 kilometers downhill. Guess that means infinite range ...
