What is the engine temp supposed to be for the LLY? New truck at 76 77 degrees in South Georgia has operating temperature of 205 degrees. What will it be in summer when air temp is 98 and 98% humidity?

Sounds normal ... same as the LB7. My 03 coolant temps run between 190-205 year round (cold front in the winter) with ambient temps ranging from below zero to the high 90's in upstate NY. (I also use a front cover (http://community.webshots.com/photo/72251092/103358005jJjteT) in the winter)

My new LLY seems to top out at 190, usually at 185. This, of course, assumes you can trust the temperature guage. Note also that temperatures here have been mid to upper 50s.

Primary T-stat starts opening @ 180', secondary
t-stat starts to open @ 185'. When temp reaches 203' primary t-stat is fully open. When 212' is reached the secondary t-stat is fully open and full coolant flow is possible @ up to 80 GPM. Therefor temps in the 195 - 212 degree range should be normal. bob ....

I really hope that no one here is assuming that the OEM gages are accurate or consistent.

The best use for them is for setting a baseline, and watching for trends. Same goes for the other gages.
