Just checking to see if anyone has looked at this filter as a candidate for pre OEM filtering. Physically, its quite large, and would appear to give some of the longer mileage we're looking for. Stanadyne also offers a number of heater, water senser, and pump options for it. In my case, my truck is brand new, and I hesitate putting in a post OEM filter due to warrenty issues. JK's sytem looks nice, but I'm not sure if it can be heated or if it can be mounted back on the frame rail.

Why do you need heat? Run good, treated fuel, and no worries...

I think TraceF used the Stanadyne set up as
a primary filter set up on his frame. If I recall
it clogged at less than 2500 miles. This is
one of the primary reasons I have moved my
filter from the frame to under the hood as a
secondary filter.

I'm using the 100 series Stanadyne currently.

Trace,

Are you considering moving your filter should
you have another premature clog?

I am working on my own experiment which may or may not work.

I want pre-filtering and yes, I will relocate the next filter but I'm not sayin' where. tongue.gif

If this all works out I'll ket you know. If it fails I will be going with the Kennedy system pre-oem.

It has obvious advantages over the Racor 690 (element size). It has draw backs too. Priming is tedious. My idea has the same draw back. There is good and bad in everything.

Shoot- My fingers have a mind of their own today!!!

Hey, I wouldn't say any filter clogging is premature. If it stops up, good deal, it saved the pump/injectors. Filters are a lot cheaper. Now this is based upon proper size and not some undersized thing.
