does having an egr truck keep your egt's up??? it is taking forever to cool down my truck to 300 degrees even when i am not wfo. any ideas on if this is normal with a truck with an egr or does one thing have nothing to do with the other.

thanks...

If I am right then EGR's purpose is to lower EGT's thereby keeping NOx levels down.
If you are monitoring EGT's in the passenger exh. manifold then your normal idle is in the 275 or so range.
Our turbos have a water cooled center section and therefore are not nearly as succeptable to coking as oil cooled turbos. Maybe you should look at cooling to only about 350 or so.
I am not saying don't cool the turbo, I do,but many people don't at all and appear to have had no trouble. Only time will tell.
