On 3 days a week I have a real short commute, 1.5 miles, so I decided to go to Mobil 1 to help with startup wear and tear on these short runs.

I take a 4000 mile towing trip Wednesday and am wondering if mileage will be any different.

Make sure you're using Mobil Delvac 1 and not just regular Mobil 1. The regular Mobil 1 is not rated for our engines.

Delvac 1 is probably the finest motor oil you can buy for the Duramax engine.

Your fuel mileage will probably increase slightly, but not enough to measure. If there were enough difference in friction between motor oils to cause a measurable difference in fuel mileage then you would see huge differences in engine wear as well.

csimo,

Yes it is Mobil Delvac 1. I did not know that there was a difference however.

Thanks,
