View Full Version : Edge EZ without gauges or other mods?

Just wondering if it would be ok to add the EZ module without changing the exhaust, intake and adding gauges. I have a 2005 chevy 2500 CC and I tow a 7500# travel trailer once in a while, other than that it would be just normal driving. I thought I would be safe to use level 1 when towing and 2 for other driving. If I need to do all of the above mods I will probably leave it stock. Any thoughts?

I have a 200.5 lly with a edge ez on it .It run's great . I tow a trailer at 18000 with no problem on level one . We have lots of passes where we live and the edge realy helps with the towing and throttle responce Hope this helps .

maytagman,

At the weights that you are towing you'll be ok, still it's nice to have a pyro to be sure so consider it. If you're towing over 10,000 with any fueling mod you really need a pyro as temps will get above the 1300 pre turbo suggested max pretty easy with a large tow load.
Give us a call if you have any questions etc, we'll be glad to help you.

Maytagman,

I have the EZ installed and tow a 12K 5th wheel. I have towed with level 1 and level 2. With the weight of my trailer, it is fairly easy for the EGT preturbo to exceed 1300 degrees at either level. I do have the EGT and boost gauges installed, but I have not modified the exhaust or anything else. I am glad that I installed the EGT gauge and would recommend at least doing that just to protect your engine.
