has there ever been a short bed 3500? Single or dual wheel. I have never seen one.

GM made one in the previous model (GMT-400) to compete with the F-350 short bed dually.

I have seen one in the new body style (GMT-800) but it was near the GM Proving ground and it had a manufacturer plate on it. I don't know if they are selling them or not.

I know Ford makes short bed 1-ton's in either the single wheel or dual wheel setups. My uncle actually used to have a '99 Chevy short bed dually and it was actually kinda nice. It was easy to park because of the shorter turning radius and towed just as good as a long bed. Looked weird though with the fender of the dual leading almost all the way to the cab.

buelldude,
'99 was the only year that chev put a short box on a dually. I had one,w/a 454. Nice truck but I traded it in on the Dmax I have now.
The moulded dually fender that we have on the new(01-03) 3500's, will not work on a short box. GM would have to re-design the fenders for a shorty. Maybe some day ;)
