05 2500HD 6.0L to 6.6 DMAX conversion

I have a 2005 2500HD with 6.0 in it that is about to be paid off, the gas mileage sucks on the 6.0 and i am thinking about swapping it out for a dmax with an allison transmission. Will the duramax work with the electronics already on my gasser? If the engine was an LLY the same Gen as my gas truck would it be as simple as swapping engine and transmission, fuel, and just a new engine electrical harness? I know that sounds wayyyy to easy to be true but if anyone has any insight into this it would be greatly appreciated.

It's definately doable. The big thing I have read is to stay with the same generation for your swap. 01-02 is different from 03-04 and so on and so on. Look on youtube for the TDIGUY, he just converted a SUBURBAN from 6.0L to a DMAX and converted the donor back with the 6.0L he took out of the SUBURBAN.
