I have a 2005 gmc 3500 LLY. I like the quietness of the exhaust. I RV a lot and I don't want to disturb the neighbours camping.
Which exhaust upgrade would be best for my truck and still be a viable option in the campgrounds.

Of the ones I've either tested or been around, the Banks systems seemed to be the quietest. I should also mention that I've yet to hear any aftermarket system (that included a muffler) that I would consider offensive. The turbocharger is a pretty effective "muffler" device all by itself.

One thing that I do specifically for the long bed is to take advantage of the extra room and use about a 10" longer muffler. This in a 4" system is VERY quiet. This also eliminates the long bed extension pipes for fewer joints.
Is it something you ask for when you order the exhaust or is it something you buy separate.
Edelbrock is still showing a 4" exhaust for $100:Will this do what I want??
Is it $ worth switching to a 4" or can you just remove the Cat for the same benefit
My systems go by wheel base so the long beds get the long muffler automatically. Most LB7 trucks did not have cats yet gained significant performance with an exhaust pipe size upgrade. The LLY will too. When you alter the exhaust it can affect the EGR flow so tuning or EGR blocker kits can become necessary.
