I bought one of the last 2006 LLY's on the last day of "employee pricing". (I think they were waiting for that program to expire before releasing the LBZ) Anyhow, I'm very happpy with what I got, but haven't a clue how many of the LBZ "improvements" I have. For example, what's my compression ratio? I do like the 6 speed Allison, though...

Quiet? When I cranked it up for the first time with my wife inside she immediately thought I'd been hoodwinked into buying a gas engine! Had to get out and put her ear up to the fender...

The 2006 LLY and LBZ are the same engine.
The DMAX in 06 underwent some major changes.
The ONLY difference between the 06 LLY and LBZ is the PCM calibration.
The LBZ cals give the engine 50 more HP and 45 ft/lbs of torque over the 06 LLY
